And it seems the bet paid off, as Ricard is now the best-selling aniseed-based spirit in the world. Ricard is know for its distinct fresh taste of licorice and subtle Provence herbs. Aged in large barrels in the open air, a slight ‘seaside’ flavor is imparted by the salt spray that licks the barrels.
