Pieter Brueghel (also Bruegel or Breughel) [a] the Younger ( / ˈbrɔɪɡəl /, [2] [3] also US: / ˈbruːɡəl /; [4] [5] Dutch: [ˈpitər ˈbrøːɣəl] ⓘ; between 23 May and 10 October 1564 – 1637/38) was a Flemish painter known for numerous copies after his father Pieter Bruegel the Elder 's work, as well as original compositions and Bruegelian pastiches.

Peter the Younger (Romanian: Petru cel Tânăr) (1547 – 19 August 1569) was the Voivode of Wallachia between 25 September 1559 and 8 June 1568. The eldest son of Mircea the Shepherd and Doamna Chiajna, he was named "the Young" because, at the moment of crowning, he was only 13.

Pieter Brueghel the Younger, often referred to as “Peasant Brueghel,” largely depicted scenes of rural life. Assembling an enormous workshop, he produced numerous copies and adaptations of his father’s compositions, which varied in size, quality and, therefore, price.
