Ebbets Field was a Major League Baseball stadium in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York. It is known mainly for having been the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team of the National League (1913– 1957), but was also home to five professional football teams, including three NFL teams (1921–1948).

Apr 9, 2013 · One hundred years ago Tuesday, Ebbets Field hosted its first regular-season baseball game. Philadelphia downed the Brooklyn team, then better known as the "Superbas," 1-0, in front of a crowd of about 10,000. The glory of the 1940s and '50s was still a long ways away.
