McMahon Stadium (/ m ə k ˈ m æ n / mək-MAN) is a Canadian football stadium in Calgary, Alberta. The stadium is owned by the University of Calgary and operated by the McMahon Stadium Society. The stadium is between the downtown core and the University of Calgary, north of 16 Avenue NW between Crowchild Trail and University Drive.
Built in an astounding 103 days in 1960, McMahon Stadium replaced the dilapidated Mewata Stadium as the Stampeders’ home field. Peter Rule of Rule Wynn and Rule was the architect of the new stadium while the contractor was Burns and Dutton Concrete and Construction.
