Khreshchatyk (Ukrainian: Хрещатик, ⓘ) is a station on the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line of the Kyiv Metro. The station is named for the Khreshchatyk street, the most central street in Kyiv. The station was opened in 1960 along with the first stage of the Metro.
Four of the stations of the Kyiv Metro, the city's rapid transit system, serve the street. Passengers are able to transfer by foot from Maidan Nezalezhnosti to Khreshchatyk, as well as from Teatralna to Zoloti Vorota .

The best five designs were used for the first five stations of the Kyiv Metro: Vokzalna, Universytet, Khreshchatyk, Arsenalna, and Dnipro. [9] During this construction, 660,400 m 3 (23,321,805.9 cu ft) of concrete was poured, and 7,300 m 2 (78,576.5 sq ft) of granite and marble were used to decorate the stations.
About the place. The Ukrainian capital has the shortest and widest main street in Europe. Kyiv’s Khreshchatyk is 1.3 kilometres long and connects the European and Bessarabska Squares. Its construction started only in the 19th century, and before that, it had been a wooded marshland called Khreshchatyi Yar. Hence the name.
