Case Histories is a British crime drama television series based on the Jackson Brodie novel series by Kate Atkinson. It stars Jason Isaacs, who has also narrated the abridged audiobook adaptation, as protagonist Jackson Brodie. The series is both set and filmed in Edinburgh. Initially, each episode was aired in two 60-minute sections.
Jackson arrives at his office to find Deborah has quit and young Aiden Kelso is waiting for him. Aiden's mother Isla was understood to have been the victim of serial killer Philip McCrory but recently the dying McCrory had owned to all the murders bar Isla's and Aiden wants the case reopened.
Divorced ex-policeman Jackson Brodie works as a private eye on largely mundane cases until, by chance, he meets sisters Amelia and Julia Land. They ask him to look into the disappearance of their little sister Olivia 30 years earlier now that her favourite toy has surfaced in the belongings of their late father.
'Case Histories' tells the story of Jackson Brodie, a private investigator who tries to find out the truth of some cases. The first case presented is that of Olivia, who in 1970 disappeared while camping in her back garden overnight with her sister, Amelia.
