The Day of the Triffids is a 1951 post-apocalyptic novel by the English science fiction author John Wyndham. After most people in the world are blinded by an apparent meteor shower, an aggressive species of plant starts killing people.
With Howard Keel, Nicole Maurey, Janette Scott, Kieron Moore. After an unusual meteor shower leaves most of the human population blind, a merchant navy officer must find a way to conquer tall, aggressive plants which are feeding on people and animals.
The Day of the Triffids is a 1963 British science fiction horror film in CinemaScope and Eastmancolor, produced by George Pitcher and Philip Yordan and directed by Steve Sekely and Freddie Francis. It stars Howard Keel and Nicole Maurey and is very loosely based on the 1951 novel of the same name by John Wyndham.
