May 3, 2024 · Laredo, city, seat (1848) of Webb county, southern Texas, U.S., on the Rio Grande (there bridged to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico), 150 miles (240 km) southwest of San Antonio. Located on the border between Mexico and the U.S., on U.S. I-35 and Mexican Federal Highway 85, Laredo is America's largest inland port and one of the oldest border crossing points.
