The Phil Silvers Show, originally titled You'll Never Get Rich, is a sitcom which ran on the CBS Television Network from 1955 to 1959. A pilot titled "Audition Show" was made in 1955, but it was never broadcast. 143 other episodes were broadcast – all half-an-hour long except for a 1959 one-hour live special. [1]

Bilko tries to get raises for Fort Baxter from Senate investigators. Bilko becomes a babysitter when he forges paperwork to allow one of his privates to spend time with his wife. Bilko changes his ways when he learns that an ancestor served with George Washington in the American Revolution.
Bilko wins $25,000 in prizes. When he has to pay taxes on his winnings he comes up with a way to dispose of the prizes and starts his own quiz show in Grove City. All is going well until Doberman becomes a big hit with the audience.

He achieved major popularity when he starred in The Phil Silvers Show, a 1950s sitcom set on a U.S. Army post in which he played Master Sergeant Ernest (Ernie) Bilko.
