The Sixth Commandment is a four-part British true crime television drama series, written by Sarah Phelps and directed by Saul Dibb. Based on the deaths of Peter Farquhar and Ann Moore-Martin, it stars Timothy Spall, Anne Reid, Sheila Hancock, Éanna Hardwicke, Annabel Scholey and Ben Bailey Smith .
The Sixth Commandment, in whatever translation you read it, is not “You shall not kill” but rather, “You shall not murder” and killing and murder are not the same thing at all. Killing is sometimes necessary for nations to defend themselves from invasion.

Jul 5, 2024 · The sixth commandment in the Bible found in Exodus 20:13 simply and boldly tells us, “Thou shall not kill.” As part of the foundational ten commandments, this injunction against killing is important. It speaks to God’s value for life and resistance to violence.
The commandment, Thou shalt not kill,' requires that we should preserve our own life and soul. It is engraven upon every creature that he should preserve his own natural life. We must be so far from self-murder, that we must do all we can to preserve natural life.

For those who believe in him, the blood of Christ speaks a word of forgiveness and acceptance.
The Sixth Commandment summons spouses to practice permanent and exclusive fidelity to one another. Emotional and sexual fidelity are essential to the commitment made in the marriage covenant. God established marriage as a reflection of his fidelity to us.
The Sixth Commandment reminds us that God is the giver of life, and He alone has the authority to take it or to grant humans permission to take it. The Sixth Commandment does not specifically apply to manslaughter, deaths caused accidentally through carelessness or other unintentional actions.
