Season three of Dancing With the Stars premiered on September 12, 2006, on the ABC network. For this season, the scoring system was changed. Fan vote only counted for 25% of the total score and scoring was now translated directly from percentages rather than into ordinals.

Season 3. Ten new celebrities are paired with professional dancers, and perform either the Waltz or Cha Cha for their first dance. The ten couples perform either the Quickstep or the Rumba, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and viewers' votes, is eliminated.
