- Nick Lazzarini. The first season premiered on July 20, 2005 with Lauren Sanchez as host, Nigel Lythgoe as the main judge, and Mary Murphy, Dan Karaty, Mia Michaels and Brian Friedman as most frequent guest judges.

Those keeping up with the show's long history are probably familiar with the dance company Shaping Sound which was founded by Lazzarini and SYTYCD alumni Travis Wall and Teddy Florance.
