As of 3 March 2024, 113 episodes of Call the Midwife have aired, concluding the thirteenth series. In February 2023, the BBC renewed the series through to a fifteenth series, keeping the show on the air until at least 2026.
Call the Midwife follows the nurses, midwives and nuns from Nonnatus House, who visit the expectant mothers of Poplar, providing the poorest women with the best possible care.
A new midwife, Chummy Browne, arrives at Nonnatus House, and finds it difficult to prove herself. Meanwhile, Jenny befriends a young Irish prostitute who is expecting a baby, and is shocked by the Church's treatment of the girl.
