Boardwalk Empire is an American period crime drama television series created by Terence Winter for the premium cable channel HBO. The series is set chiefly in Atlantic City, New Jersey, during the Prohibition era of the 1920s and stars Steve Buscemi as Nucky Thompson.
Set in 1920 at the dawn of Prohibition, this new drama series follows the birth and rise of organized crime in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Corrupt kingpin Nucky Thompson carves out a brutal niche in Atlantic City as it heads into Prohibition.
