Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years: With Scott Bairstow, Eric McCormack, Kelly Rowan, Paul Johansson. After two years spent bounty hunting, womanizing, and drinking away the painful memories of his late wife, Hannah, Newt Call returns to town to find many things have changed.
S1.E1 ∙ The Return. Newt Call, now a bounty hunter, returns after two years away from his old hometown of Curtis Wells, which has become violent and authoritarian. He gets drawn deeper into local conflict when his partner is framed for robbery.
The series was filmed in the plains of Alberta, Canada, [2] [3] near Calgary. [6] For its second season, the series was renamed Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years, and was retooled for a greater focus on action. [4] The series was cancelled in March 1996, after two seasons, due to low ratings. [7]
Oct 5, 2004 · Curtis Wells, the locale of Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years, is now a boomtown on the Montana frontier. When neighboring Sweetwater was left in ashes by a prairie fire, its whores and desperadoes took up residence in Curtis Wells, changing its character forever.
