Hey, Jeannie! is an American situation comedy starring Jeannie Carson as a young Scottish woman living in New York City. Twenty-six episodes aired on CBS from September 8, 1956 to May 4, 1957 in the Saturday slot following The Gale Storm Show and preceding the western series Gunsmoke.
In the series’s first incarnation, “Hey, Jeannie” produced and aired 26 half-hour episodes. Two episodes are held by the Library of Congress. In the first, “Jeanie Goes to Washington” (episode #6), Jeannie, as a proud new would-be citizen, journeys down to DC to learn more about her new country.
Hey, Jeannie! was a Syndication network sitcom series created by Stanley Shapiro, starring Jeannie Carson in the lead role. The series aired from September 8, 1956 to May 4, 1957, lasting for two seasons & 32 episodes; six additional episodes aired in syndication in 1958.
