Herbie, the Love Bug is a sentient 1963 Volkswagen Beetle which has been featured in several Walt Disney motion pictures starting with the 1969 feature film The Love Bug. It is the protagonist of all of his movies and has a mind of its own, being capable of driving itself and often becoming a serious contender in auto racing competitions.
Herbie, the Love Bug: With Dean Jones, Patricia Harty, Richard Paul, Claudia Wells. Jim and Bo run a driving school with Herbie, a sentient VW Beetle who frequently lands them in comic misadventures. Jim's rival Randy was once engaged to Jim's girlfriend Susan.
