The series follows protagonists Jayce, Flora, Herc Stormsailor, Oon, and Gillian in their search for Jayce's father Audric. Meanwhile, they are opposing the main antagonist Saw Boss and his followers, the Monster Minds.

Wed, Sep 25, 1985. Following Audric's signal, the Lightning League enters the Pirates Guild zone, commanded by the pirate queen, Morgana, an old love of Herc's. The Pride is boarded, robbed, and Herc and Oon are taken prisoners. Jayce, Gillian and Flora follow them concealed by an invisible bubble.
Jayce fights Monster Minds but his battle is complicated by "ghosts" released by the chimes which attack energy. Gillian figures out the life-cycle of the ghosts and their purpose and they work together to defeat Saw Boss and prevent Monster Minds from ever returning to the planet.
