- Utah’s Highway 12. Take a ride down Highway 12 in southern Utah to experience the beauty of one of the most scenic drives in America. Called “A Journey Through Time Scenic Byway,” this 122-mile stretch passes through Red Canyon and Bryce Canyon National Park before finishing near the entrance to Capitol Reef National Park.
- Park Loop Road in Maine. Experience beautiful Acadia National Park via Park Loop Road, a 27-mile drive that takes you along the rocky coast and through the tall trees before continuing past Jordan Pond House (be sure to make a pit stop for their famous popovers).
- U.S. Highway 41, aka Lake Shore Drive. Travel Lake Shore Drive to experience all the best Chicago has to offer. Drive south to north on the 15-mile urban parkway to see Navy Pier, Millennium Park, the Windy City’s famed skyline, and more on one side and stunning Lake Michigan on the other.

- Route 66. Distance: 2,448 miles. Length of Time: 1 to 2 weeks to drive the entire distance, or you can drive a section of Route 66. When to Go: All year. Highlights: Chicago, ghost towns in New Mexico and Texas, quirky roadside shops and restaurants, Petrified Forest National Park, Santa Monica.
- California: The Pacific Coast Highway. Distance: 650 miles. Time: 7 to 10 days. When to Go: spring and summer. Highlights: San Francisco, Monterey, Big Sur, Hearst Castle, Solvang, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles.
- American Southwest. Distance: Varies, 1,000 – 1,500 miles. Time: 7 days to 2 weeks. When to Go: Best during the spring and fall months. Highlights: The Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef National Parks.
- Grand Teton, Yellowstone & Glacier National Parks. Distance: 900 miles. Time: 10 days. When to Go: Early July through mid-October, when all of the roads in the national parks are open.
