Haibane Renmei (灰羽連盟, lit. "Charcoal Feather Federation") is a 2002 Japanese anime television series based on an unfinished dōjinshi manga series by Yoshitoshi Abe, The Haibanes of Old Home (オールドホームの灰羽達, Ōrudo-hōmu no Haibane-tachi).

In this world, a young girl awakens from a dream of falling from the sky into a new life she neither recognizes nor understands. She is named Rakka, which stands for 'Falling' and begins to explore her new world, and forging bonds with her new family.
