화랑은 6세기 중반부터 고대 신라에 있었던 소년들로 이루어진 심신 수련 및 교육 단체이다. 주 목적이 심신 수련이지만 사실 창설 초창기부터 주 목적은 관리, 군인 양성이었다. 소년뿐만 아니라 젊은 청년들도 많았다.
Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (Korean: 화랑; Hanja: 花郞; lit. Hwarang) is a 2016 South Korean television series starring Park Seo-joon, Go Ara and Park Hyung-sik. It revolves around an elite group of young men called Hwarang, who discover their passion, friendship and love in the turmoil of the Silla Kingdom (57 BC–AD 935).
Hwarang (Korean: 화랑; Hanja: 花郞; lit. flowering youths) were an elite warrior group of male youth in Silla, an ancient kingdom of the Korean Peninsula that originated from the mid 6th century and lasted until the early 10th century.

We all once have read about Hwarang and heard about a few famous historical Hwarangs. However, not one of us exactly knows what or who they were, as all myths do.
