Sep 20, 2023 · It's set during the overnight shift at an inner-city St. Louis bus station, and features main cast and recurring characters who are jaded station staff and management, loitering beat cops, an off-duty prostitute, and even a perpetually drunk "resident" homeless man.
John learns that a gang member has been extorting money from everyone in the station with promises of protecting them. Also, Mahalia and Gene protest John's raise by slacking off, and Chester falls off the wagon.
John decides to relive his old radio days hosting a local late night program - but can't stay awake. A girl calls Dexter out of touch with contemporary black culture - so he becomes a rapper. The women become shoes buddies.
