   Wentworth is a great prison drama worth a try. Its first 3 seasons are on Netflix right now. I caught this show, randomly, after watchung OITNB and I think it is a far better prison show. The gritty, unapologetic theme of the show is amazing. Great casting choices and tackles very tough themes.

   • They had the original character "Red" Bea Smith. So Bea Smith in Wentworth old goes by "red" as well. The acting is incredible at times and the show is dark as hell. Wentworth is so entertaining. It's a lot gritter than OITNB and is a straight-up drama. It's more Oz-like than anything. They are both pretty nihilistic.

   Is Wentworth worth a watch?

   • While I think that Wentworth is worth a watch (in fact, I'm watching it as we speak which is why I came to this thread), there's no question that OINTB is the better show overall. Wentworth is painfully underwhelming in every way, from the ham-fisted writing and ridiculous acting to the cheesy slo-mo shots and campy flashback scenes.
