•Series creator and writer Stephanie Morgenstern makes a cameo as the hostage.
•This was based on a real life incident in Toronto.
•While central to the rest of the series this is a goof. Ed's case of shooting would never occur. Snipers work in pairs with a spotter checking the area and aiding the sniper for accuracy. Thus Ed would be cleared to shoot when the son is out of range. For example, Wordy worked as the spotter for Ed in Through A Glass Darkly.
