    Summary

A flashback shows Han struggling against an enemy soldier while protecting himself with his jade dagger. Soon, his sister, Meiyin, arrives on horseback and decapitates the enemy soldier. Meiyin then helps Han up, and the two face off against the encroaching enemy soldiers. The two return to their base sometime later, where Han receives a hero's welcome from his Yellow Turban Rebellion peers. Han announces that they've dealt a mighty blow to the emperor's army, and when he claims that his sister Mei Yin Li deserved the praise, the cheers become silent. This causes Mei Yin Li to ride away in disgust, whereas Han follows her to an open field as she stands beside her horse. Mei Yin said their grandfather would be proud of Han for that accomplishment; however, Han said once he'd appreciate it, but now all he wants is for his people to know peace. She said that his people would soon, noting the emperor had fled the capital because of the chaos they had caused, and proposed they take advantage of the situation and crush his remaining forces. However, Han states that his soldiers are tired of constant warfare, and every victory of theirs has come at a terrible cost. Han had hoped to regroup his forces and push for a diplomatic resolution to their rebellion's demands. On the other hand, Mei Yin refuted Han's goal, citing how the emperor had their parents and grandfather murdered. Still, Han claimed while he was there on both occasions, he asked when the fighting would end and if it would ever be enough. To that point, Mei Yin argues that it'll be when every corrupt aristocrat and bloodthirsty warlord dies, allowing vengeance for everyone they've wronged. Only then would there be peace. Although Han tries to reason with Mei Yin, she insists on her logic and proposes one last battle to win the war. In the present, Nerva visits Meiyin in her cell and asks where Helena is hiding. However, Meiyin refuses to answer, citing her life has already been forfeited and has nothing to threaten her with. Nevra agrees and notes how he never understood why they were enemies. He then asks if Meiyin remembers when she first arrived and how he recused her as she was shivering from the waters and showed her the ways of the foreign land. Their combined abilities made them a force to be reckoned with, and later, in Rome, they'd have an army fit to make the gods tremble in fear. However, Meiyin claims that Nevra's taste isn't her type, his home isn't hers, and tells her about his home to overthrow the corrupt emperor. Nevra then claims that he's still trying to do it now. Meiyin coldly states that when Nevra "pulled" her from the cold waters, she didn't know him as well as she does now. She compares Nevra to a mantis masquerading as a grasshopper, and his true nature has revealed itself. Reciting that she'll never forget what Nevra did that day, Meiyin claims that she'd rather die than walk in stride alongside him being a slaver and murderer. Trying to attack Nevra, Meiyin is restrained by the chains bound to the walls; she then says that's what Nevra will always be. Despite Meiyin's words agitating Nevra, he calms himself down and claims she'll die before she sees another sunrise. As Nevra leaves, Meiyin watches with great disdain and is soon met by Edmund, who, accompanied by two guards, delivers her food. Edmund then asks Meiyin why she makes it so difficult for herself, and Meiyin asks if she should betray her friends like he did. He suggests telling Nevra whatever he wants to hear, which is what Edmund does all the time. Meiyin kicks away her food tray, and Edmund claims that she should understand that no one is coming for her; however, she claims that she doesn't want them to. Edmund then sighed and claimed that Meiyin was always eager to die and that it was her idea to go forth with the alliance on the suicidal attack against Nevra's forces. Scornfully, Meiyin claims they could've won had Edmund stayed loyal to their cause. Still, Edmund argues that Meiyin's endeavors are trivial compared to what the Island offers. Secrets that he and he alone could learn, have, and wouldn't leave in Meiyin's absurd alliance. Hence, Edmund manipulated Kor to leave the alliance, causing it to crumble. He did it by applying a narcotic of his own design to the feeding pens of his animals, making them all die. Edmund then claims that she should be thanking him for having her life spared, but Meiyin spits in his face, upsetting Edmund. As he leaves, Edmund pitties Meiyin for not accepting his offer, but then again, he realizes that she's incapable of accepting the true world order. The two guards that entered Meiyin's cell with Edmund then walk toward her and begin to beat her. Meanwhile, in the safe area at the waterfall by the crystal cave, John holds a meeting with Henry, Alasie, and Helena. They discuss a plausible way to invade Nevra's forces, but John rejects any suggestion. Helena then claims that meeting Meiyin had changed her, allowing her to understand what power she had within her alongside countless others. She claims that Meiyin is the best person to stand a chance against Nevra. John concurs, citing they'll need her strength and skills to overcome Nevra and the challenges they'll face on the island. He then turns to Henry for an idea and proposes they blow up the walls instead of knocking them down. As promising as it sounds, Henry admits it's dangerous as they'll need someone to place the explosives inside the compound. At that moment, a dinosaur perched upside down on a branch steals a Savoroot from her stew, giving them an idea of how they'll plant the explosives. John then asks Alasie how much stew she can make, which Alasie claims she can prepare enough to feed the entire island. Hearing that, John states that they should prepare themselves as they'll be leaving at first light. They'd later prepare for the battle ahead of them at dawn, and John would have a tender, loving moment with Alasie. John then approaches Helena and compliments Helena's improved archery skills, but she thinks nothing of it. He then asks if Helena is afraid, which she confirms, and John states that's good as fear can keep her alive, claiming courage is understanding that there are things more important than fear. Helena then claims that Meiyin tried to warn her about the dangers of that world, but she was obstinate, and John states that they now have the chance to write a new story in that world. Hesitating to ask, Helena then asks John if he's afraid to die, which he calmly states, how could he be when he already has? John continues stating that they've all died, and the stars in the sky, as well as the Island, isn't the afterlife. Furthermore, John hopes to be reunited with his wife and child one day, but he is grateful that the place has allowed Alasie a new life and become the woman she's meant to be. With all that said, John tells Helena they have to go, and he leaves Alasie a note behind for her as she sleeps with Dodo and Rhubarb. As everyone prepares for the battle ahead, Helena ties down Scary and apologizes to him, claiming he can't follow along at this time. Saying goodbye to Henry, John joins Helena, who is mounted on the now-tamed dinosaur that can scale walls, and they proceed to Nevra's base. Another flashback shows Meiyin accompanied by two allied soldiers, who, despite being wounded, fought against the emperor's soldiers. She had believed that Han's forces had cleared the way for them by now, but she then received word from a messenger that the enemy's left flank still held and that her brother had been captured. Left with two choices, choosing between her brother and going after the emperor, Meiyin chooses to go after the emperor. The Yellow Turban rebels then force their way through the emperor's domain and are accompanied by two soldiers. However, the place was a trap laid by the enemy general, where archers revealed themselves out of secret compartments and pointed their bows at Meiyin and her soldiers. The General details how he's longed to meet her, and while peasants sing praise for her brother, his own soldiers speak of her in whispers. Which he interprets as the language of fear. As the General explains how his torturers, although they got no military secrets from Han, they learned how he loved his sister and her tenacity to overthrow the emperor. Meiyin walks toward the small box in the center of the room and, upon opening it, finds Han's jade dagger covered in his blood. Fueled with rage, Meiyin runs toward the General as his archers fire their arrows at her, killing her soldiers, but before she dies, Meiyin uses both Jade daggers in her possession to kill the General. Back in the present, Helena and John manage to scale the wall of Nevra's fortress. John orders Helena to place the explodable power somewhere flammable and then gives her a flaregun to fire off to alert him that she's safe. The two then go on their separate ways. As Helena places the powder in appropriate areas, John assists Helena from afar by killing off enemy soldiers who'd get in her way. Eventually, Helena found Meiyin bound to a cross, and as she tearfully approached her, the soldier who resembled Jamie appeared. They would briefly skirmish and would end with Helena using her bow and arrow to fire an arrow into the soldier's neck, which kills him. Steeling herself after killing the soldier, Helena approaches Meiyin to free and then embraces her. Their pleasant reunion is short-lived as Nevra and his soldiers encircle them. Helena claims that Nevra had sacrificed his soldiers to capture her, but Nevra claims she once told him she was clever. Helena gasps in shock as Nevra approaches her, claiming Meiyin will be kept alive so long as she cooperates. Nevra then demands that Helena return the artifact to him, but Helena coldly asks that he surrender now so no one else has to die. Helena's comment makes Nevra laugh, and Helena claims that she's the only one who'd allow him to surrender, and John reveals himself. Scornfully calling out John's name, he claims that his name is Wakíya Natá Ú and fires off a flaming arrow at one of the flammable powders that ignites it causing a chain effect. The explosions blew open the gate, allowing two Rexes to pass through, along with Henry and some soldiers. During the battle, Helena escaped with some allied soldiers, while Edmund stood by atop a perch and watched as things progressed. The two Rexes manage to defeat Nevra's Rex, and when they do, John appears in front of them and glares at Nevra, who smirks and blows on a war horn to summon his Giganotosaurus. It makes short work of the Rexes and uses one of them to block Helena and Meiyin's escape path. John fights against two enemy soldiers, and when Edmund points his crossbow at him, John tosses his tomahawk at him, slicing off his right hand and making him flee. As Nevra, tries to walk away, John stops him and challenges him to a duel to the death. Meanwhile, Alasie awakens from her sleep and finds John's note. After reading it, she rushes to the nearby water and starts crying as Chaka consoles her. Back to Helena's side, Henry tries to reason with Helena that the situation at hand is how it should be, but enemy soldiers then confront them. However, Scary appears and defeats all of the soldiers using his brute strength and the piece of the mineral that Helena used to restrain him. As they flee, Helena fires off the flare gun into the air, and as John continues his fight against Nevra, he smiles after spotting the flare shot by Helena. Perplex by John's as he had overpowered him, John doesn't answer Nevra's question, but slices his knee. The two would continue to fight against the other, and in the end, John was impaled by Nevra's sword. Nevra then claimed that his Giganotosaurus would feast well that night. However, John crawls over to a dead soldier's body, takes his bow and arrow, and then fires off a flaming arrow that lands at a bunch of oil barrels, causing it to explode and kill the dinosaur. Watching as Nevra lamented the loss of his dinosaur, John dies and reawakens in a field of wheat, where he reunites with his wife and son. Outside of the base, Helena's group rides away into the sunrise as Meiyin awakens and then shares a kiss with Helena. Elsewhere, a messenger reports to Kor about John's death by Nevra's forces. The news causes Kor to mourn his loss, and he then asks about Meiyin's condition, but the messenger claims there's no word of her condition. The monkey perched upon Kor's shoulder chatters to him, and Kor asks if he feels like him, citing that the balance of nature has been altered. He further claims that such movements are ominous and proclaims that the very pillars of light of the Earth will be alight and everything will be destroyed.
