"Happy Birthdays" is the third episode of Season One of the ABC-TV series George Lopez, also the 2nd overall series episode. Written by Lawrence Broch, the episode, which was directed by Philip Charles MacKenzie, originally aired on April 10, 2002.
George doesn't celebrate his birthday because his mom never threw him a party; in turn, Max doesn't want a birthday party either. Angie feels George's attitude is having an unhealthy impact on Max and is determined to throw George his first birthday party.
Much to George's unpleasant surprise, Angie and his family throw him a very belated surprise birthday party that he assumes is Max's upcoming birthday party while a new worker, accident-prone Amy, threatens the pride George takes in his workplace's safety record.
