Selby is a town in North Yorkshire, England, UK. In the 2021 UK Census 19,760 people were living there. [1] It is on the River Ouse which is joined to Leeds by the Selby Canal and used to be a centre of ship building. It is not far from the border with the East Riding of Yorkshire .
