Baarin Left Banner (Mongolian: ᠪᠠᠭᠠᠷᠢᠨ ᠵᠡᠭᠦᠨ ᠬᠣᠰᠢᠭᠤ; Chinese: 巴林左旗), or Bairin, is a banner of eastern Inner Mongolia, China, under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Chifeng. The banner spans an area of 6,644 square kilometers, and as of 2018, has a population of 340,020.

They ruled from 907 AD to about 1125. [1] The first ruler was Yelü Abaoji, Khan of the Khitan peoples. [2] It was originally called the "Qidan Kingdom" until about 947. [3] Its capital was the present day Bairin Left Banner in Inner Mongolia. [3]
