Crossett, city, Ashley county, southeastern Arkansas, U.S. It lies on pine-forested uplands near the Ouachita River, about 45 miles (70 km) east of El Dorado. Founded in 1899 by the Crossett Lumber Company (since 1962 part of the Georgia-Pacific Corporation), it remained a company-owned town until 1946, when it became an open community.
