Sep 14, 2022 · Crown Heights is one of the best historic neighborhoods in Brooklyn to explore with its own historic district, tree-lined streets with beautiful townhomes and brownstones, the many museums and cultural institutions in the neighborhood, and mix of great dining and bar options.
Crown Heights began as a posh residential neighborhood, a “bedroom” for Manhattan’s bourgeois class. Beginning in the early 1900s, many upper-class residences were erected along Eastern Parkway. Away from the parkway was a mixture of lower middle class residences, with a population peak in the 1920s.
Crown Heights, a dynamic Brooklyn neighborhood, reflects a kaleidoscope of history and diversity. The neighborhood is celebrated for its historic brownstones and cultural institutions and museums found in the neighborhood. Today, it attracts a diverse demographic, including Caribbean and Hasidic Jewish communities.
