Englewood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Charlotte and Sarasota counties in the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 20,800, up from 14,863 at the 2010 census. It is part of the North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The laid-back community of Englewood, situated on the Southwest Coast of Florida 26 miles west of Punta Gorda and 30 miles south of Sarasota, is a prime destination for saltwater adventures, from deep-sea fishing to lounging on the beach and collecting shark teeth.

There is a 1 1/4 mile trail that follows the intercoastal with some spots to sit or picnic. The trail ends at stump pass with views of Don Pedro Island across the way. A great walk is to take the trail then return by the beach. The beach is pristine and we see dolphins at least half the time we go.
