Glendale Heights is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. The population was 31,765 at the 2000 census. Glendale Heights was a small farming community known as Cloverdale up until the 1950s, with a population of just 104 in 1959.

Village History. Harold Reskin, Founder of Glendale Heights. Until 1958 the area that is now Glendale Heights was largely rural with the exception of small pockets of subdivisions, on the east side of Bloomingdale Road, north of North Avenue, Glen Ellyn Countryside had been subdivided in 1951.

Glendale Heights is a village in DuPage County, Illinois. It is a suburb of Chicago. At the 2020 census, the population was 33,176. The village was originally named Glendale. But in March 1960, the word Heights was added to the name because of the village's topographies. The village was incorporated in 1959. References

One cheese factory used 4,000 pounds of milk and made 135 pounds of butter and 280 pounds of cheese daily. After train lines were established, milk was transported to Chicago for processing. The Illinois Central came through in 1888 with stops in Cloverdale and on Swift Road.
