Moniaive (/ m ɒ n i ˈ aɪ v / 'monny-IVE'; Scottish Gaelic: Am Moine Naomh, "The Holy Moor") is a village in the Parish of Glencairn, in Dumfries and Galloway, southwest Scotland. It stands on the Cairn and Dalwhat Waters, 16 miles (26 km) north-west of the town of Dumfries.

Moniaive, the ‘Hill of Streams’ (from the Gaelic monadh-abh), nestles in stunning countryside where the three glens of Craigdarroch, Dalwhat and Castlefairn meet. It’s a bustling village with a long history and strong community spirit.
Moniaive. Moniaive is a pretty village with a number of surprises. The first is that it should have developed here in the first place, in a beautiful but remote location in the Cairn Valley on the Dalwhat Water, 7 miles west of Thornhill and 15 miles north-west of Dumfries.
Visitor Information. This is your one stop shop for finding suitable accommodation for your visit to Moniaive. There’s a choice of hotels and self catering. We do not have a permanent Camp site but there is a temporary one during festival weekends.
History Trail. Moniaive (Gaelic monadh-abh, ‘Hill of Streams’) is rich in history. Famous visitors included Robert the Bruce, King James IV, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Robert Burns.
