It was back in Episode #2.19 of The Twilight Zone, 'Mr. Dingle the Strong', when aliens arrived on Earth and tapped a hapless vacuum cleaner salesman (Burgess Meredith) to receive the strength of three hundred men in an intergalactic experiment.
He also appeared in "Deputy Marshall" (1949) with Jon Hall and the Rosalind Russell comedy "Tell It to the Judge" (1949). Bevans last acted on "The Twilight Zone" (CBS, 1959-1964). Bevans passed away in August 1963 at the age of 84.
Clem Bevans continued playing farmers, hillbillies, and "town's oldest citizen" roles into the early 1960s. The octogenarian actor could be seen in a 1962 episode of Twilight Zone ("Hocus Pocus and Frisby") looking and sounding just the same as he had way back in 1935.
