The ADN BSN Program is a collaborative nursing program designed for students who meet University general education and community partner degree requirements to earn both ADN and BSN degrees in two and a half years through full-time study.
The College of San Mateo Nursing Program provides students with opportunities for learning at the College, local hospitals, and related health agencies. Clinical practice begins early in the first semester. Upon graduation, the candidate receives an Associate in Science degree and is eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX).
Introduction to the professional aspects of nursing. Students learn principles of human needs and application of the nursing process. Basic skills are mastered through skills lab and clinical experiences in long term care settings.
Registered Nursing. The courses NURS 211, 212, 221, 222, 225, 231, 232, 235, 241, 242, 245, 620, 815, 816, 817, 818, and 819 are open only to those students accepted in the Associate Degree Nursing Program (see Index: Nursing, A. S. Degree for admission requirements). A grade of C or higher is necessary for progression in the sequence.
