was the first DreamWorks Animation film to be distributed by 20th Century Fox after the departure of Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox subsidiary of News Corporation with the founder Rupert Murdoch. A total of ten DreamWorks Animation films were distributed by this company from 2013 to 2017 beginning with The Croods and ending with Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.
On December 14, 2017, The Walt Disney Company announced plan to buy 21st Century Fox assets for $52.4 billion. The deal was completed on March 20, 2019. The deal did not include the DreamWorks films distributed by the company (DreamWorks Animation was brought by Universal in 2016) which the deal ends afterwards, nor does it include Fox Broadcasting Company. On January 17, 2020, the studio was renamed to "20th Century Studios".

Paramount Pictures distributed its releases from 2006 through 2012, and 20th Century Fox (currently known as 20th Century Studios) did the same from 2013 through 2017. Most DWA films from 2019 onward have been released through Universal Pictures , which also owns most of the rights to its back catalogue.
