   Great Idea, but options are almost a must. Time Owned: more than 12 months. On a past tower installation, I owned a Glen Martin Hazer (H4) mounted on 40 feet of Rohn 25G. The Hazer is a great unique product for those who do not wish to climb.

   I have the 4' Hazer with braking wench and rollers on a 40' Rohn 25 hinge-base tower. Mosley TA-33 WARC on a 10' mast and a Yaesu rotator. Works very smoothly and easily on this tower which I refurbished. I'll repeat a much mentioned caution - DO NOT USE the Glenn Martin pulley.

   These compromises are not the fault of the hazer. My tower is too close to my house. Assemble of the Hazer around the tower had to be done at the roof level because there was not enough distance between house and hazer frame for clearance.

   Glen Martin Hazer - Wow! Time Owned: unknown months. A great product! Having climbed many towers over the years, I've decided that the easier way is to use a tram system to bring the antenna and rotator to ME! The Hazer tram is a great product! LOTS of nuts and bolts, but the instructions are great. Goes together easily, and works great!

   Why did the hazer Assembly have to be done at the roof level?

   • Assemble of the Hazer around the tower had to be done at the roof level because there was not enough distance between house and hazer frame for clearance. My house will prevent me from working on the ground while servicing the rotator or lower antenna. The second set of lower guy wires will have to be done away with.

   How do you raise a hazer?

   • The Hazer latched at the top of the tower. The completed product. Six and Two meter beams above the tree line. The two and six meter beams are too long to walk the guy wires around from the ground after the hazer is at the 25 ft elevation. It works best if the two guy wires are vertical to the tower prior to raising the hazer.

   How long did it take to build a hazer 4?

   • The Hazer 4 should weather well, even on the gulf coast here in South Texas. Only one hole had to be cleaned out because of the galvanizing process. All holes were perfectly aligned. The construction of the three sides took about 1 1/2 hours working alone. The next picture shows the three sides assembled on the back yard table.

    The roller bearing set improves the smooth contact of the Hazer with the tower. The bearings roll over tower joints or other rough spots . Works on Hazers 2, 3, and 4. The roller set at right is shown on lower right corner of Hazer. A set like this is bolted to each of the Hazer's six corners.
