Hrant Alianak (born 1950), also billed as Harant Alianak or Grant Aljanak, is a Sudanese-Armenian-Canadian actor and playwright. He gained notoriety as Dr. Jon Mendez in Pontypool.
Hrant Alianak made his debut as a writer in 1972 at Theatre Passe Muraille in Toronto with his play TANTRUMS. Other plays he has written and directed include his Gangster trilogy, NIGHT, PASSION AND SIN and LUCKY STRIKE, as well as THE BLUES, THE BIG HIT and THE WALLS OF AFRICA.
Khartoum-born Armenian-Canadian actor Hrant Alianak wrote, directed and produced two feature films , Burning, Burning (2015) and A Trip to the Island (2014). He debuted as a writer in 1972 in Toronto with his play "Tantrums".
