    12 contestants try to win a recurring role on the popular daytime soap General Hospital.

    The original British version called Soapstars ran on ITV1 for a brief period from 3 September (September 3) until 7 November (November 7) 2001. The voiceover was Daniel Hill while Carol Vorderman (of Countdown fame) presented the live final episode.
