Jul 30, 2023 · The big question viewers ask throughout Jacob’s Ladder is whether Jacob’s visions are real or imagined. As nobody else can see them, viewers initially guess Jacob suffers a mental breakdown or illness.
SPOILERS AHEAD. The whole film builds up this sense of paranoia and a dream like state, which makes you question what is reality, but it speaks volumes about the character's beliefs, fears and losses. Everything flows, jumping between these different states.
So I just watched Jacob's Ladder today and I'm still digesting some of the intricacies of the film. I've laid down a few questions below hoping you guys can answer. At the end of the film, it shows Jake (main protag) died after getting his innards pierced by a Bayoneta.
