In this issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Gonzalez-Jaramillo et al 10 synthesized evidence from cohort studies to estimate the effect of changes in exercise behavior on cardiovascular disease incidence and mortality in participants with established coronary heart disease.
We examined the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, obesity, and smoking history, based on medical examination data (systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, hemoglobin A 1c, total cholesterol, and body mass index).
