It’s been a few years since we’ve checked in with Havard Ellefsen, aka Mortiis —arguably the father of the entire dungeon synth genre.
- Venom – Welcome To Hell(1981) I was a huge fan of WASParound 1984-1985, and in my private little universe, I thought they were the craziest thing out there, until some asshole played me a tape that had 'In league with Satan' on it.
- WASP – Self Titled (1984) Just like my Venomstory above, WASProlled into my life probably around 1984, when my parents bought my brother their first album on cassette for Christmas.
- GBH – City Baby Attacked By Rats(1982) I didn't hear that album until many years after its release. It's a kickass punk album, and it inspired Quorthon in early Bathory.
- NIN – The Fragile(1999) Even though Downward Spiralor even the Broken EPare probably my favourites, I think The Fragileis perhaps a more important album, at least from a creative perspective.
