Richard Joseph Neutra was a notable Austrian-American architect, accredited for introducing the International Style into American architecture and for developing the style of California Modern into residential architecture. Richard Neutra was born on April 8, 1892, in Vienna Austria.
Neutra received a posthumous gold medal from the American Institute of Architects as well as a number of international awards. He set up the Neutra Institute for Survival Through Design in 1962 to further research into the effects of the designed environment.
