Sep 4, 2012 · What are they? I know 4wd in a full-size racing car has its advantages and disadvantages, but what about in slots? Is it best left on the rally cars or can the lmps (example r18 etron) scaled down in slot car form benifit as well?

Any slot car that isn't toy grade (like hot wheels brand) you actually need to learn how to drive them. I'd suggest you start with a 1:32 Carrera set, you can find them on amazon, get a simple figure 8 to start with, and Carrera has lots of track addons to your track to slowly expand it as you get into the hobby.

Dec 22, 2004 · All the recent (past ten years) SCX rally cars have shaft drive 4x4. Opinions vary as to the effectiveness of this (or any other) four-wheel drive system on a slot car. I'd say it has no real effect beyond adding weight, noise and sapping power. Actually, in some cases it is a negative as it can induce de-slotting.

Aug 12, 2021 · I have a Slot.it Audi e-tron 4WD that performs very good on a tight and twisted coarse. It took a while for the front bearings to loosen up. I drive with a smooth not choppy throttle. The front wheel assemblies have one way hubs, that lock up only under power.
