3:10 to Yuma. In this beautifully shot, psychologically complex western, Van Heflin is a mild-mannered cattle rancher who takes on the task of shepherding a captured outlaw (played with cucumber-cool charisma by Glenn Ford) to the train that will deliver him to prison.
Small-time rancher Dan Evans is persuaded to take Wade (in secret) to the nearest town with a railway station to await the train to the court in Yuma. Once the two are holed up in the hotel to wait, it becomes apparent the secret is out and a battle of wills starts. — Jeremy Perkins {J-26}
