    “Alpha” represents the first sorority in the school of music. “Chi” was first “Kai,” meaning “and.” “Omega”represents the last such sorority being founded.

    Our founders, Anna Allen, Olive Burnett, Bertha Deniston, Amy Dubois, Nellie Gamble, Bessie Grooms, and Estelle Leonard,came together at DePauw University in Indiana on October 15, 1885 to create the first musical sorority.

    Our mission is to enrich the lives of members through lifetime opportunities for friendship, leadership, learning, and service.
