From Dover - Head north on Route 13 to Route 42, Fast Landing Road. Turn right (East) on Route and follow it to Route 9 in Leipsic. Turn left (North) onto Route 9 and follow it for 2 miles to Whitehall Neck Road Turn right onto Whitehall Neck Road and follow it to the refuge entrance.
Welcome to Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge covers about 16,000 acres in central Delaware along the western shore of the Delaware Bay. Bombay Hook was created in 1937 and is managed primarily for migrating and wintering ducks and geese, shorebirds and other migratory birds.
The Refuge. Located on the west side of Delaware Bay, Bombay Hook is one of the crown jewels in the National Wildlife Refuge system. It consists of over 16,000 acres of protected land and attracts 100,000 visitors a year including birders, nature lovers, photographers and hunters.
