     You need to install MSMQ on ALL machines which want to participate in the transmission and reception of messages. That includes sending machines such as your local machine in this instance.

     The reason for this is because of the store-and-forward messaging pattern that MSMQ uses.

     What is actually happening when you "send" a message to your server is:

     • The local queue manager writes the message to a local temporary queue.
     • The local queue manager connects to the remote queue manager.
     • The message is transmitted.
     • The remote queue manager writes the message to the remote queue.

     As mentioned by user @kuzimoto the commands I was using were not compatible with SharePoint Online and were designed to be used in conjunction with SharePoint Server.

     The correct way to connect is using the command Connect-SPOService and passing through the credentials through there or just have them hard coded into your script.

     In my case, I had to remove the following from the .csproj file:

     <Import Project="$(SolutionDir)\.nuget\NuGet.targets" Condition="Exists('$(SolutionDir)\.nuget\NuGet.targets')" /><Target Name="EnsureNuGetPackageBuildImports" BeforeTargets="PrepareForBuild"> <PropertyGroup> <ErrorText>This project references NuGet package(s) that are missing on this computer. Enable NuGet Package Restore to download them. For more information, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=322105. The missing file is {0}.</ErrorText> </PropertyGroup> <Error Condition="!Exists('$(SolutionDir)\.nuget\NuGet.targets')" Text="$([System.String]::Format('$(ErrorText)', '$(SolutionDir)\.nuget\NuGet.targets'))" /></Target>

     In fact, in this snippet you can see where the error message is coming from.

     I was converting from MSBuild-Integrated Package Restore to Automatic Package Restore (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/nuget/consume-packages/package-restore#migrate-to-automatic-package-restore)

     One solution would be to remove from the .csproj file the following:

     <Import Project="$(SolutionDir)\.nuget\NuGet.targets" Condition="Exists('$(SolutionDir)\.nuget\NuGet.targets')" /><Target Name="EnsureNuGetPackageBuildImports" BeforeTargets="PrepareForBuild"> <PropertyGroup> <ErrorText>This project references NuGet package(s) that are missing on this computer.      How?

     • Right click on project. Unload Project.
     • Right click on project. Edit csproj.
     • Remove the part from the file. Save.
     • Right click on project. Reload Project.

     In my case it happened after I moved my solution folder from one location to another, re-organized it a bit and in the process its relative folder structure changed.

     So I had to edit all entries similar to the following one in my .csproj file from

     <Import Project="..\packages\Microsoft.Bcl.Build.1.0.14\tools\Microsoft.Bcl.Build.targets" Condition="Exists('..\packages\Microsoft.Bcl.Build.1.0.14\tools\Microsoft.Bcl.Build.targets')" />-

     to

     <Import Project="packages\Microsoft.Bcl.Build.1.0.14\tools\Microsoft.Bcl.Build.targets" Condition="Exists('packages\Microsoft.Bcl.Build.1.0.14\tools\Microsoft.Bcl.Build.targets')" />-

     (Note the change from ..\packages\

     to packages\

     . It might be a different relative structure in your case, but you get the idea.)

     tl;dr

     Use an installer for Intel Macs rather than Apple Silicon Macs.

     Obtain installer for Macs with Intel chips

     Certainly Java 17 will run on your computer.

     I am not sure, but I would make this guess as to the root of your problem… I suspect you downloaded an installer for the Apple Silicon Macs, rather than for Macs with Intel chips.

     Go to any of the several vendors providing JDK products. Some are free-of-cost, some require a fee. Be sure to understand their terms before downloading.

     Those vendors include, off the top of my head: Azul Systems, Adoptium (formerly AdoptOpenJDK), BellSoft, Amazon, Red Hat/IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Pivotal, and likely more.

     On their respective download page, be sure to opt for the edition labeled "Intel", "x86", "AMD-64", or some such to indicate Macs with Intel chips.

     Do not download any edition labeled "Apple Silicon", "ARM", or "AArch-64", as these indicate the Macs with M1 chips.

     Here is an example screenshot from Adoptium web site for their Temurin product, an installer of a JDK implementing Java 17 based on the source code at the OpenJDK project.

     Found a solution. I ran cmd as admin and then ran the following commands:

     REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes.htm /ve /d htmlfile /f

     REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes.html /ve /d htmlfile /f

     REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes.shtml /ve /d htmlfile /f

     REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes.xht /ve /d htmlfile /f

     REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes.xhtml /ve /d htmlfile /f
