Bubo was an artificial creature, a construct of the gods, which appeared in the 1981 mythological fantasy film Clash of the Titans. It was animated using mostly stop-motion techniques by visual effects legend Ray Harryhausen.

Clash of the Titans is a 1981 epic fantasy adventure film directed by Desmond Davis and written by Beverley Cross, loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus. The mechanical owl locates Pegasus in the swamp, guarded by Calibos' men and the giant vulture. Bubo creates a chaotic melee, the camp burns when a fire-pit is overturned and Bubo frees Pegasus. Back in Joppa, Perseus arrives in Ammon's amphitheater and collapses from exhaustion.

Zeus orders Athena to send her owl to guide him, but she sends a mechanical replica instead. The replica (named Bubo) was clearly created in order to be sold as a toy, though it does feature heavily in the plot.
Bubo is a fictional robotic owl in Clash of the Titans (1981 film and 2010 Remake) and Wrath of the Titans. In the original 1981 film, Bubo was created by Hephaestus and sent to help Perseus save the princess; Bubo helps him by overcoming numerous enemies.
