There seem to be several effects who look just like the Linking Lifesavers, I'v found that Colin Gilbert has the original, I was very curious what you think of the effect, is there a switch involved, and is the effect hard to do? F.

I have concluded that Ellen must have been in on the trick at 2:12 in this video I don't think it's possible to have a spectator tug on the linked lifesavers without them realizing how it's done and ruining the effect.
